New units
With its new dial revealed by FFG, the TIE/sf can now be played in Squadron Benchmark. All pilots are without ability, therefore Quickdraw and Backdraft are like expensive Zeta specialists so far. Among the new Wave 9 upgrades, the following ones are now working:
- Vectored Thrusters,
- Tail Gunner,
- R3 Astromech,
- Sensor Cluster,
- Special Ops Training.
User Interface and new Functionalities
For the interface, most of you have seen now that the AI/Player selector is on the setup screen: You can select which side is played by the AI and you right before the combat. The advantage now is that you can play again the same combat, switching sides.
There are now a "Back" and a "Home" buttons. "Back" returns to the planning phase of the previous turn. Going back multiple times is possible, until the initial setup or the starting screen. Home just goes to the starting screen. Actually, the "Back" button is a good way for submitting bugs: When you find a bug or erroneous behavior, just go back, it creates a permalink with the state of the game. You can then post the link in this blog, telling me what were your actions in the last turn and I'll be able to reproduce exactly your bug.

Finally, there's now a way to capture tabletop setups into Squadron Benchmark. Take a topview picture of your table, make it square, correct distortions if any, and use the "Import setup image" button. For instance, I've captured a picture of the setup for the X-Wing World Championship 2015, Paul Heaver vs Nathan Eide. I've corrected the distortion due to the camera and now it's easy to place the unit and asteroids in the same location as in the real setup ! This background image disappears when you move to the planning phase.

Bug corrections
Well, I'm a bit late in answering your bug reports of the last month. I've captured some of them and corrected some bugs:
- Manaroo, transfers correctly its tokens
- Proton Torpedoes now are working
- Some criticals from the two core sets have the same names but not the same effect. Implemented.
- Long-range scanners condition checking is now ok
- R4-B11 corrected
- Maarek Steel Defender cost corrected
- Crack shot activation corrected
- Garven + Jan Ors (crew): replacing focus is not removing focus token.
- Wampa effect occurs at compare step
- Shaken pilot + ionized: corrected
- Conner net: 1 damage, always (was random)

Hi, in the new version I'm unable to attack, when I hit the 'fire' button during attacks it can no longer proceed without hitting escape. Doesn't matter who is shooting or when in the game, very consistently broken for me. Tested in Firefox and Chrome.

ReplyDeleteTesting out the new TIE/SF, the 1 hard turns don't appear to be there. Also, with special ops training equipped, I can add the extra attack die out the front arc, but it doesn't seem to let me double-attack out front and back just yet.
Also, not to saddle you with even more bugs to look into, but noticed the BTL title for Y-Wings appears to stop the entire combat phase after the first attack it makes.

DeleteI'm still having problems for the attack, No one can fire. The Console reads [Turn #2] Combat, and the 'NEXT' button turns red. In turn 1, I had to skip through each ship when they were out of range, but now nothing. Tested on Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

ReplyDeleteHi Denis, here is another one. I've had this happen a few times, but I finally got a replay of it. Ships will sometimes get hung up on something in the upper left part of the map. In the replay, it is my Ghost on Turn 10.
My theory is that it is a shadow of the Phantom that is docked on the Ghost that ships are getting stuck on.

I've also had enemy ships target lock my Phantom while it was docked when they were in the vicinity of that spot. Once or twice enemy ships have even fired on that spot and hit my docked Phantom. All of this led me to my theory that it is a shadow of some sort.
ReplyDelete@Denis: Yeah, I think I confirmed that is what's going on. I just played another game, and after the game I flew the Ghost over to that area and got it stuck again. I did a 1-straight for a couple of turns just to make sure that it was actually stuck. Then I deployed the Phantom, and the Ghost was no longer stuck.

DeleteFor Glitterstim, I was not able to see the bug. Glitterstim effect lasts normally for the whole round, and then disappears. You could play it the following turn ? The turn after again ?
For IG-88B destroyed with 2 health remaining, I observed a similar situation: It was dealt 1 damage, transformed into 1 critical (Major Hull Breach), and it was a Direct hit -> 2 hits, dead. Maybe you had the same sequence ?

Not a bug report, but in the same game Tomax Bren was unable to be targeted by Chopper's turret because the Ghost model was so big it obscured the ability of the TIE Bomber to be selected.

DeleteFor Special Ops training, indeed it was bugged. Corrected (hope so) in the new version. The timing is the following:
- select a weapon to attack (primary weapon)
- select a target. If the target is in the primary firing arc, a "hit" icon appears. Click on it if you want the extra hit for this attack. Otherwise (skip), you will have the extra rear attack.

ReplyDeleteAh, strange, normally a faceup crit is applied to all units at range 1, enemy or friendly. Maybe this damage was done by the critical, any message in the console ?

DeleteI noticed a couple issues with the tractor beam cannon.
ReplyDeleteFirst is that the effect went into a 2nd round when it should only last the round it's on.
Second is that if I use it to boost/barrel a ship that was bumped against one of my other ships, the other ship can't shoot it even though they aren't bumped anymore.

Autothrusters not working if in arc at range 3
Dash not able to shoot if initial maneuver lands him on asteroid, even if he moves off of it.
Dash can also overlap ships when barrel rolling or boosting.
Sometimes when both squads have HLC, the whole thing locks up and won't continue. Have to reload the page and start over.
Kihraxz Fighter should not have 3 turn maneuvers.

ReplyDeleteAlso forgot to mention. Can't boost or barrel roll if 1 of the options is blocked sometimes. Clearly can complete but option to boost or barrel roll is not shown in actions.
If you get Shaken Pilot crit, ship does not move with the intended maneuver if it is on the right side. Almost as if the maneuvers are a grid of sorts and since the middle grid doesn't show, everything shifts as a result.
